Joburg safety MMC rejects suggestion of hiring foreigners as police officers

JOHANNESBURG – Joburg Public Safety MMC, Mgcini Tshwaku, says there is no need for the JMPD to hire foreign nationals.
He was responding to Mayor Dada Morero’s suggestion to employ immigrants to fight crime.

Tshwaku says a lack of staff is not the issue, but rather a lack of money.
He says local officers are perfectly capable of doing the job.
